PALUX History

From 1929 to the present day: Innovation for professional kitchens.

A storyline about entrepreneurial spirit, manufacturing expertise, product innovations and milestones from almost a century of PALUX.

1929
The beginnings

Engineer Hugo Patzner founded Patzner & Co. in Groß Schönau in northern Bohemia. The development and production of coffee machines began.

1935

Opening of the branch in Sebnitz, Saxony.

1949

Hugo Patzner settled in Bad Mergentheim and re-established Patzner KG in November 1949.

1954

PALUX builds the first deep fryers, then still called "Fritüren".

1959

Start of dishwasher production.

1967
Award
  • Start of production of kitchen extension systems “The golden series”.
  • PALUX products have been awarded gold medals at the Paris Salon and the Brussels Inventors' Fair.
1969

PALUX celebrates its 40th anniversary. Hugo Patzner receives the Federal Cross of Merit at the Kursaal in Bad Mergentheim.

1970

Hugo Patzner died on November 23, 1970. His nephews Helmut and Norbert Patzner took over the business and continued to run it.

1977
Expansion

New construction of Plant II in the industrial park “Im Abelt” in the Edelfingen district of Bad Mergentheim.

1981

Conversion to Patzner GmbH & Co. KG.

1983

PALUX remained family-owned until 1983. Subsequently, new shareholders replaced the long-standing owner family, the Patzners.

1990
Technology
  • Company name: PALUX Technik für die Gastronomie GmbH.
  • Investment in new manufacturing technologies.
  • Inauguration of the new design and training center in Plant II.
1992

PALUX is the sole supplier of equipment for all competition kitchens at the Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt.

1993

Conversion into PALUX Aktiengesellschaft.

1994

Introducing the PALUX Topline series.

1997

The Bremer Viva XXL fully automatic coffee machine was presented at INTERNORGA. The product was awarded "Best Product of the Year 1997".

2002

Restructuring of the group and founding of GUSTATUS Holding GmbH, headquartered in Bad Mergentheim.

2004

Complete relocation from Buchener Straße to today's headquarters, Plant II.

2005

Introducing the PALUX BistroLine series.

2009

Introducing the PALUX FryStar series.

2011
Sustainability
  • Introducing the PALUX Touch 'n' Steam hot air steamer.
  • 3rd place at the “Green Ribbon 2011 – Prize for Sustainability in the Out-of-Home Market”.

Design Award

Red Dot Product Design Award 2012 for the PALUX Touch 'n' Steam hot air steamer.

2013

Introducing the PALUX ProfiLine series. BEST of Market 2013: 3rd place in the cooking technology category.

  • Catering Star 2015 in Gold for PALUX GreenVAC®.
  • Catering Star 2015 in silver for PALUX SousChef sous-vide cooker.
  • Kitchen Award 2015 in silver for PALUX Touch 'n' Steam combination mixing station.
2016

Investment in new manufacturing technology, including Trumpf TruBend 5320 and Trumpf TruMatic 7000.

2018
Change of leadership
  • Erhard Ikas, a graduate in business administration, resigns from his position as Chairman of the Board.
  • Torsten Hehner, a graduate in business administration, is appointed to the board.
  • PALUX Topline Black Edition wins the Kitchen Award 2018 in Gold as well as BEST of Market 2018 in the area of ​​design concept.
2019
90 years of PALUX
  • 25 years of PALUX Topline.
  • Presentation of the new PALUX Topline D and the PALUX pressure steamer at INTERNORGA.
  • PALUX's 90th company anniversary.
2020
Hygiene & Awards
  • Introducing new PALUX hygiene solutions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
